Frequently Asked Questions
•
Do you service my area?
We operate in the greater Seattle area, generally from Lake Stevens to Tumwater, and from Issaquah to West Seattle, and onto the peninsula as far as Gig Harbor. We cannot clean in areas that require ferry travel. If you’re not sure whether or not your home or business falls within our service area, contact us at cleanwithdewater@gmail.com or by call or text to (857) 417 - 5253.
•
Do you do a walkthrough before the first cleaning?
It is not typically necessary for us to do a walkthrough beforehand. We can usually get a good idea of the size of the job by having you answer a few simple questions. We may occasionally ask (or be asked) to do a walkthrough before taking a job, but this is usually unnecessary.
•
How much does your cleaning service cost?
The price is quoted based on a number of factors that will give us a good idea of the scope of the task, such as the size of the space, number of bedrooms, restrooms, etc...
•
What is included in a Routine Cleaning?
For a routine residential cleaning, we dust, clean the windows, blind, sills, baseboards, doors, cabinet faces, mirrors, tables and furniture surfaces, washroom basins and fixtures and counters, kitchen surfaces, sink and microwave. We change any bed sheets, and gently clean upholstered furniture. It is a very thorough cleaning, and we are dedicated to a strict attention to detail.
•
What is the difference between Routine Clean, Deep Clean, and Move-in/out Clean?
A Deep Clean and Move In/Out Cleaning both include the full service of the Routine (or Standard) Cleaning, but feature a heavier touch, including more elbow grease, more time set aside for the job, along with a thorough cleaning of the inside of the oven, refrigerator, and other appliances. A Move Out Cleaning is our most thorough process, since having furniture and personal items removed will give us full access to the insides of closets, drawers, cabinets, behind and beneath appliances, and full access to all the walls, banisters and railings.
•
Can I make special requests?
Of course. There are cleaning tasks that we will be unequipped, unqualified, or unwilling to tackle, but there's no harm in asking. Often, when we are unable to fulfill a request, we can make professional referrals to providers of specific services that would be able to help. As examples, we cannot cleanup an asbestos hazard, clean biological hazards, or perform pest control. We do, however, have the ability to clean carpets, pressure wash, and even perform hot tub maintenance and do handyman work. It never hurts to ask.
•
What is my cleaner's arrival window?
Typically, we can predict a cleaner's expected arrival pretty well, but there are times when unforeseen circumstances on an earlier scheduled job can delay our arrival. We are committed to keeping an open line of communication in the event of a delay, and will work within a schedule that fits your needs.
•
Can I tip my cleaner?
Yes. If your cleaner does a fantastic job, feel free to express your gratitude through a gratuity.
•
Do you bring your own supplies?
We bring everything that we need to get the whole job done.
•
Can you use [specific cleaning product] instead?
If there are specific products that you would prefer us to use, we ask that you provide those products and keep them on site, but yes, we can use your preferred products in lieu of those we would typically bring with us to the job.
•
Are your employees background checked / safe / trustworthy?
Our Cleaners are background checked and screened, as well as vetted, and trained to provide nothing less than our sterling standard of service. We look for cleaners that share our mindset, that if we are going to set out to do this job, we should set our hearts and minds towards being the best at the job that Seattle can offer.
•
Do I need to be there while the cleaners are there?
It isn't necessary for you to be there. If you are comfortable having us clean while you are out, we can perform the cleaning and let ourselves out when we are done, and inform you by your preferred method that the job is done. We have several clients that routinely have us clean while they are out of the house, and many that have provided us with a copy of the key to keep on hand, gate codes, parking passes. If it's easier for you to set a cleaning schedule for a time that you will be offsite, we can have it clean and tidy for you upon your return.
•
Do you work on weekends?
Most of our cleaners try to avoid working on the weekends, especially Sunday, but we have cleaners available every day of the week.
•
Can you perform Daily Cleanings?
Yes, we can. If the site needs a daily cleaner, we can arrange to meet that need.
•
Can you clean the office / trailer overnight?
If scheduling permits it, yes. For some sites, overnight cleaning is desired, and we can try to get something scheduled for you.
•
What is your cancellation policy?
We'd appreciate as far advanced a notice as possible of any arising scheduling conflicts, and we will generally touch base to confirm our appointment 24 to 48 hours before a cleaning. Cancellations on the day of a cleaning may be met with a request for 50% of the cost. If our staff is irremediably locked out, or informed of a cancellation at the door, a fee of up to 75% of the scheduled cleaning's cost may be assessed. It is not our desire to wantonly charge for cleanings that could not be performed, but it is important to us that we are able to provide for the gas, expected pay, and opportunity cost of our cleaning staff in the event of a no-call no-show or doorstep cancellation that throws their daily schedule irrevocably into disarray. We'll try our best to see If the schedule can be jockeyed around on the fly and made to work in the event of a last minute reschedule, but we can't always assure that last minute adjustments can be made.
•
How do you accept payment?
Our preferred payment method is Zelle or Venmo, but we can accept payment in Cash, Business Check, and we accept Personal Checks from repeat clients. We are not equipped to accept direct Credit Card payments at this time.
•
Can I recommend DeWater Cleaning Service to a friend / family member?
Yes please, if you know someone that would be happy with the quality of cleaning that we provide, we'll be happy to impress the person you've given the referral.
•
I'd like to compliment my cleaner.
We'd love to hear it! We are a small, tight knit company, and we love hearing how great our cleaners are doing, and hearing about how satisfied our clients are with the work!
